Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Armenia  H.E. Mr.Andrew Turner. Referring to the establishment of cooperation between Yerevan and Montreal and the agenda of bilateral relations, the parties outlines a number of areas.
Relations between Yerevan and Montreal were established in 1998. In 2001, an agreement on declaring sister cities was signed between the parties. The Mayor and the Ambassador stated that there is a need to update the signed documents to give a new impetus to bilateral relations.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, Andrew Turner noted that the presence of a diplomatic representation in Yerevan is an important step for both countries and the two cities.
