Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Greece to Armenia Christos Sofianopoulos. The cooperation and friendship agreement was signed between Yerevan and Athens in 1993. The parties stated that the document needs to be updated.
Welcoming the guest, Mayor Avinyan emphasized the importance of establishing partnership relations with Athens and emphasized that Yerevan is open and ready to implement various cooperation projects with the Greek capital. As an important direction of cooperation, the Mayor of Yerevan highlighted the implementation of joint cultural programs, claiming that Yerevan has been taking unprecedented initiatives in the field in recent years and has a lot of experience.
Expressing gratitude for the willingness to cooperate, Ambassador Christos Sofianopoulos noted that he will do his best to contribute  to the establishment of relations between the two capitals and implementation of practical plans.
