Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan received a delegation led by Marc Cools, President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, who is currently in Armenia to participate in the "Yerevan Dialogue” international forum. 
Welcoming the guests, Mayor Avinyan emphasized that the Yerevan Municipality highly values the role and activities of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. He also noted that, as part of efforts to strengthen local democracy, the Municipality has initiated several amendments to the RA Law “On Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan,” aimed at reinforcing the institutional foundations of local self-governance.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, Marc Cools congratulated Mayor Avinyan on his appointment as a delegate to the Congress. He also expressed hope for enhanced cooperation throughout the course of the forum.
