Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan meets representatives of European Investment Bank
Yerevan Municipality has been implementing a number of programs I various spheres of urban economy with the European Investment Bank. Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan and the First Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan discussed the issues related to cooperation expansion between the two organizations with the Senior Loan Officer of the EIB Armenia’s state segment Stephanie Guihard-Brand.
Attaching importance to mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Investment Bank Yerevan Mayor noted that already accomplished projects can serve a good ground for new initiatives. In particular, the Mayor outlined the procurement of new electric buses, re-equipment of community-owned policlinics, continuity of renovation programs of kindergartens and some other projects which will provide complex solutions in a certain sphere. Hrachya Sargsyan also stressed that today the community has a full support of the RA Government in loan and grant programs implementation with international partners.
Expressing gratitude for the willingness to carry on the cooperation Stephanie Guihard-Brand in her turn stress that the bank is ready to consider new programs aimed at Yerevan development and providing its convenient environment.
Presenting his attitudes to urban governance Mayor Sargsyan also informed that together with the First Deputy Mayor they are taking steps towards issuing Eurobonds, and possibilities are being considered with experts of the field. The initiative will not only play an important role in the economic development of the city but also will become an attractive tool for both local investors and the foreign market.
