Robotics Program to Be Implemented in 40 Community Kindergartens in Yerevan This Year

26.05.2025

The pilot educational program "Robot Construction", already implemented in 10 kindergartens in Yerevan, has proven to be effective and will now be included as one of the core programs. Teachers were rewarded with a 100% salary bonus for their additional workload.
As part of the program expansion, 30 more kindergartens will be equipped with three robotics sets and three tablets each. A teacher training initiative will soon be launched, carried out by the Yerevan Municipality in collaboration with the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.

In 2025, significant reconstruction, construction, and renovation works have been carried out, and are still in progress, at the Yerevan Zoo, involving both existing and new infrastructure, as well as pathways within the zoo grounds. As part of this program, several animal enclosures have also been modernized.
In just a few days, visitors will have the opportunity to observe several new animal species that have not been exhibited at the zoo before.
To make visits more accessible, free buses operate on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, transporting visitors from the bus stop near Yeritasardakan Metro Station to the zoo and back (round trip). The bus schedule is available on the zoo’s official website and social media pages.

To enhance the efficiency of public transport, a comprehensive network of bus lanes has been developed in Yerevan, with partial completion so far. The route starts in the Nor Nork administrative district and is planned to extend to the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district.

A mobility concept for Yerevan’s small city center has been developed in collaboration with the partners from Île-de-France. Along with introducing separate bus lanes, the plan proposes traffic restrictions on several streets to reorganize traffic flow and convert these areas into pedestrian zones. At the initial stage, these restrictions are proposed for Abovyan, Nalbandyan, and Aram streets near Republic Square.

Changes are also planned for Saryan and Moskovyan streets. As a result, traffic on Saryan Street and Moskovyan Street, from the intersection with Tumanyan Street to the intersection with Baghramyan Avenue, will be converted to one-way traffic heading from Mashtots Avenue toward Baghramyan Avenue. Details about these and other planned changes can be found at the following link.
