Kindergarten No. 24 in Yerevan to Have a New Building Designed for Around 180 Children

24.03.2026

Mayor Tigran Avinyan attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Kindergarten No. 24 in Yerevan, marking the start of the project by placing a time capsule in the building’s foundation. A new building is being constructed to replace a 90-year-old structure that had fallen into disrepair. The redevelopment will significantly expand the kindergarten’s capacity, increasing the number of classrooms from three to six and allowing 180 children to attend, more than doubling its previous capacity of 80.
“The old building’s condition required complete demolition. We saw this as an opportunity not only to rebuild but also to expand the kindergarten's area and capacity. The construction is being carried out in line with the latest standards. Our projects should serve as a benchmark for the private sector to follow,” emphasized the mayor.
The project is financed through the municipal budget. The design features a 20 kW solar photovoltaic system and a solar water heater on the kindergarten's roof, along with a modern boiler room and heating system. The building will be fully equipped with fire protection, water supply, internal sewerage and stormwater drainage systems, as well as ventilation and video surveillance. As part of the project, the yard will also be renovated: the green area will be expanded; a playground will be built; gazebos, benches and trash receptacles will be installed; and an irrigation system and outdoor lighting network will be laid.
