During the meeting of the Council of Elders of Yerevan called on April 26 the Council approved of the decision on renaming the basic school N 147 in the capital after the Artsakh hero Robert Abajyan. The draft decision was made by the initiative of Mayor Taron Margaryan.

Robert Abajyan who fell during the Artsakh four-day April war studied at this school from 2003 till 2011.
Expressing gratitude to the members of the Council of Elders for unanimous decision Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan appreciated it as an important step aimed at commemoration of the brave son of Armenian people.
On May 8,2016, by the decree of the NKR President, for exclusive courage and heroism Robert Abajyan was posthumously awarded with the highest rank of “Artsakh hero” and “Golden Eagle” order.
