Agreement of brotherhood was signed between Yerevan and Volgograd

The Мayor of Volgograd Andrey Kosolapov who is in Yerevan with the aim of participation in “Erebuni-Yerevan 2797” celebration met with Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan. Expressing gratitude for accepting the invitation Yerevan Mayor presented in brief his attitudes and priorities in Yerevan governance and outlined the spheres in which Yerevan Municipality develops effective cooperation with partner cities. Taron Margaryan expressed hope that with signing the Brotherhood Agreement with Volgograd tight cooperation will be established between Yerevan and Volgograd.
“Signing Brotherhood Agreement between our cities is very important for us and I am sure that due to our teamwork we will have significant results in the development of our partnership”, said Taron Margaryan and offered to create working groups which will specify the schedule of implementation of business programs.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome and congratulating his Yerevan colleague on the day of the city, Andrey Kosolapov attached importance to signing the agreement and in his turn stressed that he would do his best so that the interaction between the cities could give noticeable results.

“There are many points for cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest and I assure you, Mister Mayor, that I will do my best to develop bilateral cooperation. The problems are quite similar in big cities and similar attitudes are often applied to their solutions, and I am sure we will find them during our teamwork. We are highly impressed with your hospitality and I should confess that we attach importance to partnership establishment with such an ancient city which adopted a firm way of development today” said the Mayor of Volgograd.
The ceremony of signing the Brotherhood Agreement followed the meeting. According to the agreement the parties are obliged to expand and strengthen bilateral relations. The agreement provides experience and information exchange in all spheres which are of important influence in the process of development of both cities. Mutually beneficial programs in the spheres of culture, economy and tourism, education, social health care, engineering and urban development management are to be implemented.
