Yerevan and Île-de-France Continue Their Cooperation
On May 20, Yerevan Deputy Mayor Sargis Madatyan received a delegation led by Stéphane Beaudet, Vice-President of the Regional Council of Île-de-France responsible for international and decentralized cooperation. The discussion focused on preparations for the upcoming final conference of the “Yerevan Urban Development Program,” as well as prospects for future bilateral cooperation.
Both sides highlighted the importance of cooperation between Yerevan and the Île-de-France region in strengthening urban economy. Over the past 15 years, a number of effective initiatives have been implemented in the sectors of urban planning, environmental protection, and transport.
The “Yerevan Urban Change Program”, launched in 2022, was specially emphasized. It has driven innovative solutions in waste management, transport, and urban design. New traffic management projects have been developed and urban planning tools have been introduced to support data-driven decision-making. Besides, in the field of waste management, modern management practices have been adopted.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to expanding this partnership and launching joint projects across other sectors of mutual interest.
