During the official visit to Armenia from March 31 to April 1, the delegation led by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier also included the Mayor of Leipzig Burkhard Jung.
During the visit, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan and Leipzig Mayor Burkhard Jung signed the agreement "On Holding  a Year of Cultural Events between Yerevan and Leipzig."
The initiative aims to promote cultural exchanges between Yerevan and Leipzig and enhance the partnership between the two cities through joint projects and events.
