Yerevan Ballet Fest started with Performance of Boris Eifman Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre
“Yerevan Ballet Fest” has expanded its volumes and geography this year. The most large-scale cultural project of this year is fulfilled by the initiative of Yerevan Municipality.
The festival is one of the ambitious projects aimed at changing the cultural policy and routine of the city.
“Last year Yerevan Municipality initiated the first ballet festival dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Aram Khachatryan. We will put all efforts into transformation of public life and formation of new traditions of relationship between people”, stressed Mayor Tigran Avinyan.
Ballet days in Yerevan opened with the performance of Boris Eifman Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre. Their show involved episodes of the best performances staged by Eifman: “Anna Karenina”, “Master and Margarita”, “Rodin, his eternal idol”.
The new format changes the concept of cultural projects. Ballet days in Yerevan attracted many tourists.
The festival lasts for two more days. On June 4, the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiaryan is on stage with their “Swan’s Lake” performance. Next comes Tbilisi theatre with their gala program.
The events begin at 20:00.
