Yerevan Council of Elders established public transport privileges for some groups of the population
Some social groups using Yerevan public transport will receive fare privileges. At its regular meeting, Yerevan Council of Elders approved a package of privileges. It relates to monthly, quarterly, annual ticket packages, as well as tickets for 10 destinations; considering public transport fare increase it relates to those layers of the population who really need it or have relevant services to Armenia. In particular:
1. A 20% discount is established for students of primary and secondary schools in Yerevan.
2. For students of colleges, vocational schools and universities of Yerevan (regardless of the place of registration) - 15% off,
3. 30% off for pensioners aged 63+ registered in Yerevan.
4. 20% off for socially vulnerable people registered in Yerevan.
5. Free commute is provided for people with severe functional limitations, orphaned students, as well as honorary citizens of Yerevan, parents with 4 or more minor children who have registration in Yerevan.
About 550 thousand citizens will be able to take advantage of this package of benefits.

According to another decision of the Council of Elders, regardless of the place of registration, family members of people fallen during military operations to defend Artsakh or the Republic of Armenia, or missing or declared dead in the line of duty - widows, minor children, parents will also be able to travel free of charge. This group covers about 13,500 people.

Yerevan residents who have turned 100 years old will receive financial support of 1,000,000 drams from the city budget. The analysis of the information provided by the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs revealed that 177 Yerevan residents celebrated their 100th birthday in the period from 2018 to 2023, which is up to 30 residents annually.

An audit service will be engaged to conduct an independent audit of the annual report on Yerevan budget performance for 2024.
