The regular meeting convened on October 31 was chaired by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan. During the meeting the draft decision on confirmation of the five-year program of Yerevan development planned for 2018-2022 was submitted to the Yerevan Council of Elders discussion.
Presenting the draft decision Yerevan Deputy Mayor Vahe Nikoyan said that the goal of the program is to outline the directions for urban economy development taking into account the priorities of the capital’s development, the existing problems and possibilities of financing. According to the Deputy Mayor, the program is aimed at the development of all spheres of urban economy as a result of which sustainable and proportional development of the capital will be provided. Particular significance is attached to providing improved and convenient environment both for residents and guests of the capital, particularly to creation of rest zones, expansion of green areas, improvement of buildings and yard areas, external design, convenient and safe movement corresponding to modern standards, encouragement of cooperation between the community and private sector and expansion of the circles of the programs carried out in teamwork.
Vahe Nikoyan informed that the five-year program of Yerevan development planned for 2018-2022 had passed the stage of public hearings and got positive conclusion of the Council for management of the four-year program of development and annual budget of Yerevan.
Vahe Nikoyan also answered the questions of the members of the Council of Elders related to the program and afterwards the Council confirmed the program of Yerevan development planned for 2018-2022.
The rest issues fo the agenda were also approved by the Council of Elders.
At the end of the meeting Yerevan Mayor, heads of administrative districts and heads of the municipal subdivisions answered the questions of the members of the Council.
The next meeting of Yerevan Council of Elders is scheduled for November 29.
