Yerevan and Riga Broaden Cooperation
First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Armen Pambukhchyan, who is currently on a working visit to the Latvian capital, met with the Mayor of Riga, Viesturs Kleinbergs. During the meeting, the sides discussed the existing relationship between the two cities and identified potential areas to expand bilateral cooperation.
Armen Pambukhchyan introduced the Mayor of Riga to the reforms and ongoing projects in Yerevan, which are intended to develop urban infrastructure and digitalize municipal services. As potential new areas for collaboration, the First Deputy Mayor highlighted the importance of experience-exchange initiatives in the waste management and sanitation sectors, as well as the introduction of smart-city solutions into the urban governance system.
Mayor Viesturs Kleinbergs commended Yerevan’s initiatives and emphasized that Riga is ready to cooperate both through sector-specific exchange programs and the implementation of new joint projects.
