“Lands seized illegally from Yerevan community is also theft”: 26 hectares stretching along Myasnikyan avenue to be greened
The area stretching along Myasnikyan avenue, which used to be developed illegally and irregularly for years, will be greened. During the regular working meeting it was reported that the land plots seized from the community will be cleared up from illegal constructions, and a green zone will be designed in 26 hectares.
“Such policy caused Yerevan to lose huge volumes of green areas, and various grounds and justifications were brought not to put an end to irregular construction development at the cost of green areas. For 2-3 years we have been trying to get rid of this logic. Land plots seized from Yerevan community particularly from green zones is also a theft: what is community-owned must stay community-owned, and what is a green area must remain a green area”, stressed the Mayor.

During the spring tree planting action 20 parks and squares of the capital will be replenished with precious sorts of trees: about 50 thousand flowering bushes and about half a million flowers and decorative bushes will be planted. In 2024, greening projects will be carried out to restore and lay forest zones, to replace trees that lost their viability.

In 2024, it is planned to repair 55 km of asphalt cover.

In parallel with the modernization of the street lighting network in Yerevan, a new remote-control system will be installed. It will make it possible to solve the problems of control and safety more easily, to notice accidents and show more rapid response.

The problem of property right of Kond residents will be solved with the reconstruction of Kond residential quarter. Kond dwellers have been encountering various problems for years. Totally, about 900 property units have been inventoried in the quarter. Currently, the boundaries of the houses and adjacent areas are being specified to give residents their ownership certificates.

The full package of “Ajapnyak” metro station design is at the stage of simple expertise. The construction process is going to start this year.

The deadlines for the constructions with expired terms will be specified with building improvement programs. In case of not meeting the requirements the community will terminate the contract unilaterally.
Tigran Avinyan stressed that delays are not acceptable any more.
