In the context of proportional development of the capital, in accordance with the promise given by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan creation of new infrastructures of vital significance started in Nor Kharberd quarter of Shengavit district in 2013. Besides, restoration of existing infrastructures and other various improvements have been started in the area. To familiarize himself with the process of implementation Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan visited Nor Kharberd. It should be noted that this living quarter founded in 1969 and which has the population of 8000 didn’t have stable system of gas supply, drinking water and sewage, electricity, irrigation water, external lighting, no road construction was carried out here.
Introducing the Mayor the process of complex program implemented in Nor Kharberd the persons in charge reported that in 2013-2015 the gas pipeline of 3,2 km was installed here. To supply the area with electricity 95 newrod posts were installed, a sub-station was built, 8 km of communication lines were renewed and reinforced. In the past period significant activities were carried out towards water supply of the quarter. New drinking water line of 2,2 km was built, the quality and duration of water supply was improved. To solve the problem of irrigation 2.3 km of new waterline was installed, new pumps were placed. Presenting the process it was reported that within the frames of the four year program 8 streets of the quarter were asphalted and well-arranged, in 6 streets the problem of lighting was solved. Attaching importance to improvement in various spheres of the city economy Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the persons in charge to carry on the work consistently so that all the programs promised to the residents of the area would be kept.
“In teamwork with the partner organizations “Gasprom Armenia”, “Yerevan Jur”, and “ELA” the Municipality fulfilled significant work in Nor Kharberd living quarter solving the problems rooted in the area for years. The realization of this program was long-expected for the residents and justifying their expectations we have been able to provide the high priority infrastructures for the residents. There are many problems to be solved in NorKharberd, as it used to be an area of summer houses, however, inventorying the problems we will try to find solutions to them. I assure you that this program will be continued till this remote district of the city will be completely comfortable for residents.
The mayor also talked with the residents, heard out to their problems. Expressing gratitude for accomplished large-scale work the residents noted that the promises given to them had been kept. Within the frames of the visit the start of gas supply in Nor Kharberd quarter was solemnly given. The symbolic lamp was lit by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and Deputy Manager General of “Gasprom Armenia” CJSC Ararat Gevorgyan.
