“You have become the representatives of Yerevan through your talent and art” – Tigran Avinyan
The “Yerevan” Youth Orchestra, conducted by maestro Sergey Smbatyan, held a concert at the “Aram Khachaturian” Concert Hall ahead of its upcoming tour in Berlin. Renowned trumpeter Sergei Nakariakov joined the orchestra as a soloist, performing Alexander Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto.
The orchestra will present its debut performance with the same program on August 2 at the esteemed “Konzerthaus” concert hall in Berlin.
“Established as the “Yerevan” Youth Symphony Orchestra, the “Yerevan” Youth Orchestra is now one of our most significant initiatives. These talented young musicians are already performing on Armenia’s most prominent stages, and in the near future, they will proudly represent our city and country on one of the most prestigious international music platforms — the “Young Euro Classic” festival in Berlin. This orchestra is a good example of the remarkable outcomes that can be achieved when the city invests in education, culture, and the development of its youth. You have already become the representatives of Yerevan through your talent and art,” emphasized Mayor Tigran Avinyan in his speech.
Mayor Avinyan awarded Sergey Smbatyan, founder and principal conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, the “Argishti I” memorial medal in recognition of his significant contribution to the cultural life of Yerevan.
Anna Andriasova, concertmaster of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, and Gevorg Avetisyan, principal flutist, were awarded the “Erebuni-Yerevan 2800th Anniversary” memorial medal for their dedication, professionalism, and conscientious work within the framework of the Yerevan Municipality’s cultural programs.
