We will not tolerate poor-quality food in our kindergartens": about 3,850 kg of chicken meat is withdrawn

18.11.2024

On October 30, Yerevan Municipality Control Department sent chicken breast meat supplied by "Sisiani Hats" LLC for laboratory expertise. The laboratory found a discrepancy, i.e. the presence of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. Urgent measures were taken for the entire batch. As of November 6, there were about 3,850 kg of chicken meat in 146 kindergartens in Yerevan, which was withdrawn. At the same time, four samples of butter supplied to all kindergartens by "Deaga" CJSC were sent for microbiological examination. A discrepancy was found, in particular, the presence of mesophilic-aerobic and facultative-anaerobic bacteria. Measures are being taken to withdraw the entire batch - 2,270 kg of butter.
The Mayor strictly warned food suppliers that the authorities are not going to tolerate the low quality of products supplied to kindergartens.
By the way, in 2025, in order to more effectively organize the process of procurement of food products that will be supplied to Yerevan municipal kindergartens, the technical characteristics of food products were studied and finalized and appropriate requirements for quality compliance were presented.

Yerevan Municipality continues the process of returning public areas to the community.
“There are areas that were once leased out by Yerevan Municipality, but these areas are intended for public use. These areas should not be built up, there should be green areas, places for walking. I am glad to know that some areas are being returned to Yerevan Municipality, taking into account the cost of rent. I would like to inform you that the constructions adjacent to the Opera and Ballet Theater will most likely be demolished so that the area becomes greener and more accessible to people," Tigran Avinyan emphasized.
