Visits and traditional presents for the elderly in retirement home on the International Day of Elderly People
On the occasion of the International day of Elderly People, on the instruction of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the head of Municipality Department of Social Welfare Ruzanna Zakaryan visited the retirement homes of Nor Nork and N1.
These two establishments were granted sport equipment. The RA Minister of Labour and Social Affairs applied to the Mayor with this request to organize active recreation of the representatives of the older generation. On the event of the day the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan visited the retirement home of Nork. He stressed the importance of cooperation with Yerevan Municipality outlining that in the person of Mayor Taron Margaryan Yerevan Municipality has always kept the problems of elderly at the focus and assist in the improvement of their social conditions as much as possible. During the visit the head of Social Welfare Department Ruzanna Zakaryan congratulated the elderly people on behalf of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and noted that it coincided with the start of the social program being carried out prior to the 2797th anniversary of the capital within the frames of which various groups of population would be granted household appliances. And the 19 residents aged 100 and more will get financial aid.
Expressing gratitude for the attention and care the elderly citizens noted that they get such care not only on holidays. Congratulating one another sitting round the festive tables the representatives of the older generation also recited and danced.
