Programs Discussed During This Week’s Working Meeting

02.03.2026

Construction of the new Albert Azaryan Gymnastics School is progressing rapidly. At the six-building sports complex, the walls of the first floor have been fully reinforced and concreted. The prefabricated reinforced concrete structures for sports hall buildings 1, 2, and 3 are approximately 70–80% complete. Designed to meet international standards, the center will provide comfortable training space for about 300 young athletes. In 2027, the complex will host the European Gymnastics Championships, marking the first time the event will take place in Armenia.

Construction of an overpass is planned at the intersection of Noragavit 1st Street and the Artashat Roadway. The tender for the construction has been announced, with the bid opening scheduled for March 30. Given the traffic congestion at the intersection, the project will allow traffic flows to be separated into different levels, reducing congestion and road accidents, as well as ensuring safe passage for both vehicles and pedestrians.

The tender for a feasibility study of an investment project to construct a new metro station adjacent to the "Surmalu" trade center has been concluded. A contract with the winning company (consortium) will be signed this week, after which funding will be allocated and work will begin. Completion of the study is expected within 120 calendar days.

The possibility of constructing a new roadway as part of the Ulnetsi–Rubinyants–Acharyan railway line project in Yerevan is also under consideration. This roadway would serve as an alternative to the Acharyan–Myasnikyan road section, alleviating traffic congestion. The feasibility study has been completed, and decisions concerning the investment project will be made based on the findings.
