One of the parks in Avan administrative districts named in honor of Abai Kunanbayev, the founder of Kazakh literature
By decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders, the park located near Alma-Ata Street in Avan administrative district has been named after Abai Kunanbayev.
The official ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Armen Pambukhchyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, and the Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, Aida Balayeva.
In his welcome speech to the attendees, Armen Pambukhchyan expressed confidence that this recreational area would become one of the symbols of friendship between the two nations.
As part of the event, Armenian and Kazakh children and young people performed musical and dance pieces.
