During the special meeting of the Council of Elders of Yerevan which was chaired by Mayor Taron Margaryan the participants of the meeting kept a silence minute in memory of the member of the RPA faction of the Council Ashot Papayan.
Turning to the items on the agenda, at the suggestion of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, on the events of the 2798th anniversary of Yerevan and taking into account the need for living conditions improvement, the Council of Elders of Yerevan approved of the draft decision on giving a Yerevan community-owned flat to the family of azatamartik Arthur Karapetyan fallen in April 1991 in Getashen village (Shahumyan district).
By another decision of the Council was approved the draft decision on giving a flat for free use to the big family of the participant of self defense and liberation battles at the border of RA and NKR, the member of militia unit “Sasuntsi David” injured during the battled Virab Sargsyan.
At the suggestion of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, on the event of Yerevan's 2798th anniversary the Council of Elders granted the city-owned flat to the Arm SSR People's Artist, laureate of the stage prize, laureate of 4 international contests, awardee of St Mesrop Mashtots order, of Order of Honour, Cavalier of the Order “Surb Sahak-Surb Mesrop”, professor of Yerevan State Conservatoire Svetlana Navasardyan.
Taking into account the services rendered during Artsakh liberation war, the significant contribution to the creation and popularization of Armenian national and patriotic songs, as well as the urgent need for living conditions improvement, by the decision of the Council a flat will be granted to the RA Honorary Culture Figure Gusan Haykazuni. The Council of Elders also confirmed the draft decision on alienation of the flat with the right for free use to the family of Arthur Safaryan and Lusine Bakunts who have eight under age children. By other decisions of the Council of Elders the right for free use of flats was given to 4 more families as they need living conditions improvement.
