During the first working meeting of 2016 in Yerevan City Hall Mayor Taron Margaryan referred to the organization of snow cleaning and waste removal on the holidays and expressed his discontent with the activity of «Sanitek» company which carries out sanitary cleaning as well as with unsatisfactory control over the mentioned activities by corresponding services of the Municipality and by the heads of the administrative districts.
«It is well-known that «Sanitek» carries out not only waste removal in the capital but also is responsible for the organization of snow cleaning. And we together with our citizens are discontented with the work organized by the company. The lack of experience in this issue was obvious. However, it should be mentioned that in the conditions of three-day snowfalls, when the monthly norm of precipitation fell within three days, some difficulties arose. Taking into account this aspect I instruct our services to join the activities and help the company though our only task was to control the work but not to organize and carry out it. I have already expressed my discontent to the owners of the company warning them that in case of recurrence we will apply strict sanctions towards «Sanitek» company», stressed Taron Margaryan.
Concerning the issue of control over now cleaning and removal carried out by the heads of the administrative districts and corresponding services of the Municipality the Mayor stressed that the defects are also obvious in this part.
Mayor Taron Margaryan also expressed dissatisfaction with the work of «Sanitek» and the heads of administrative districts concerning waste removal on the festive days. «There is no doubt that waste removal on holidays was badly-organized. In this issue I am displeased not only with the work of «Sanitek» but with the work of the heads of the administrative districts too», said the Mayor.
Estimating snow cleaning activities carried out by about 1200 employees Mayor Taron Margaryan expressed gratitude to them for their working on festive days and trying to do their best to provide free movement of the residents.
