Modernization programs are going on at Yerevan Metro: escalators are being changed, the number of rolling stock is increasing, interior and exterior lighting network is being renewed. New escalators have already been put into operation at ‘Republic square’ station. Currently, the Metro has 32 carriages operated. Passengers’ survey showed that there are no more complaints about train congestion. The lighting system at “Gortsaranain” station has been modernized and fully restored.
In near future Yerevan Metro will have another station: the design of “Ajapnyak” station is ready and the construction is going to start soon.
The reforms and improvements at Yerevan Metro will be continued. The idea of a new metro station started in Yerevan more than three decades ago will finally come true.
