Yerevan residents continue to raise awareness of various city issues through the “Active Citizen” platform. Mayor Tigran Avinyan has encouraged citizens to register on the platform and use it to report problems.

Construction of the “Park of Life” in Yerevan’s Botanical Garden continues in memory of the fallen heroes of the Artsakh Wars. The recreational area will feature an artificial pond, renovated cascading stairs, as well as new walkways and a bike path. A new irrigation system and pump station are under construction, which will help maintain not only the “Park of Life”, but also the entire garden.

To prevent rockfalls and ensure the safety of the surrounding area, loose rocks were removed from the steep slope adjacent to the Matenadaran, and rockfall netting and meshing solutions were implemented. The netted section covers approximately 1,563 square meters. The work was carried out as part of the current year’s program.

A comprehensive four-year plan has been developed to reduce emissions from Yerevan’s main sources of pollution and enhance the city’s air quality monitoring system. The plan identifies the main contributors to air pollution—construction, transportation, mines and concrete batching plants, heating systems, and landfills—and outlines targeted measures to reduce emissions. Broader environmental efforts include expanding green spaces and increasing the use of evergreen plant species in landscaping. Several legislative amendments have been initiated to support implementation of the plan.

Over the past three weeks, 13 illegally constructed buildings have been dismantled.

A new street lighting system is being installed along the road from the end of Ajaryan Street to the Abovyan Traffic Police Station. Construction of the outdoor lighting network is currently underway.
