President Serzh Sargsyan took part in the jubilee events dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Armenian National Agrarian University foundation. Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was also present at the event. Within the frames of the events a new biological research laboratory has been opened in the building of ANAU. The President of the Republic toured the newly-opened laboratory provided with up-to-date equipment, familiarized himself with its technological capacities.

The president of the Republic also visited the Chess Museum opened in the university in 2001 where valuable materials representing the big chess events and victories of Armenian chess players are exhibited. Serzh Sargsyan also took part in the solemn meeting in the Assembly Hall of ANUA together with the faculty of the university, the students and numerous guests. On the event of ANUA jubilee the RA President awarded a number of faculty members with state honorary and thanksgiving diplomas for their significant contribution to the sphere of science and education.
