Totally, 500 elevators will be replaced with new ones in Yerevan this year.  460 of them have already been installed. 4.6 billion drams have been allocated from the community budget for this important program aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of residents.
The project, which has reached  significant volumes, provided solutions to the problems accumulated over decades. Most elevators in the capital's block of flats have been in use for more than 40 years.
As a result of the programs implemented in recent years, about 2,000 elevators have already been replaced with new ones.
The completely new elevators being installed are adapted for use by people with vision, hearing and locomotor problems.
