Kindergartens No. 138 and No. 74 have reopened in Yerevan following extensive renovation works. The facilities have been modernized with the introduction of energy-efficiency solutions, including the installation of solar panels, water heaters, boilers, and energy-saving lighting.

The pothole repair program continues across the city.

At the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan, the Sasuntsi Davit (David of Sassoun) ballet-oratorio once again played to a full house. Created at the initiative and special request of Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, this cultural project has become widely beloved and highly required by audiences.

World Social Work Day was marked at Yerevan Municipality with a panel discussion titled “Social Work as a Shared Commitment.” In his welcoming remarks, Mayor Tigran Avinyan emphasized that social protection remains a priority for the Yerevan Municipality. Continuous efforts are being made to expand social assistance programs and make them more accessible, particularly for the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and families in difficult life circumstances.   

Mayor of Yerevan Tigran Avinyan, together with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, attended the Third Public Sector Innovation Conference on public administration reforms. During the conference, the Prime Minister and the Mayor visited the COPA pavilion to review AI-driven technological solutions designed to enhance governance efficiency. At the initiative of the Yerevan Mayor, the “Artist to School” program took place in November–December 2025. As part of the program, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia and renowned painter Hrant Tadevosyan (Tatos) held a number of masterclasses at 20 municipal art schools in Yerevan, attended by about 1,000 schoolchildren.

The Yerevan Municipality plans to acquire approximately 69 units of specialized equipment in 2026 to improve sanitation and waste removal services.

Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan hosted Nikola Nikolov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to Armenia. Yerevan and Sofia have been sister cities since 2008. During the meeting, both parties identified several important sectors to expand bilateral cooperation.

The Yerevan Council of Elders approved the city’s 2025 budget execution report at a session on March 12. Its own revenues outperformed targets by 9%, while overall expenditure performance reached 90%.   In 2025, municipal authorities replaced 500 elevators across the capital, renovated dozens of kindergarten backyards, and brought the Nubarashen landfill under control within months. Approximately 260,000 square meters of partial-depth pavement repairs were carried out, 551 curb ramps were constructed at 308 locations, 12 specialized multifunctional vacuum trucks, 15 garbage trucks, and around 2,000 plastic waste containers were procured.
