The IUCN National Committee in Armenia Launched
An official meeting marking the launch of the Armenian National Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) was held at Yerevan Municipality on June 24. The event brought together diplomatic missions, government institutions, and IUCN representatives to strengthen cooperation in support of nature protection in Armenia. Yerevan Municipality has been an IUCN member since 2025, reaffirming its commitment not only to the preservation of nature and biodiversity but also to sustainable urban development.
International Memorial Tournament Dedicated to Benur Pashayan
From June 30 to July 1, the Dinamo Sports Complex will host the Yerevan Open Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship. The international memorial tournament dedicated to the distinguished athlete Benur Pashayan is organized by the Department of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Yerevan Municipality, in cooperation with the Wrestling Federation of Armenia.

"Vahagn Vishapakagh" Statue Has a New Address
The statue of Vahagn Vishapakagh (Vahagn the Dragon-Slayer), created by sculptor Karlen Nurijanyan, has been relocated to the square adjacent to the Yerevan Municipality. Erected in 1968, the 3.5-meter-tall monument has occupied several locations over the years. Since 2004, it has been located in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, near the bridge on the Yerevan–Ejmiatsin highway.
Yerevan opens the 13th park for dogs
Yerevan continues to build dedicated dog parks across the city. Another fenced dog park has opened in the Nazarbekyan district of the Ajapnyak administrative district, equipped with all the necessary facilities for dogs.
Yerevan Council of Elders Sums up 6th Session
By a decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders, the 45 newly procured trolleybuses were transferred to the ownership of “Yerevan Electric Transport” CJSC. The new vehicles allow for the complete modernization of the transport depot. The rolling stock acquired in recent years, a total of 75 new trolleybuses, has made it possible to extend services to parts of the capital not covered by overhead contact networks, providing residents with comfortable travel conditions and high-quality service.
