Restoration of the collapsed segment of David Bek Street
Restoration activities have begun after the collapse of a section of the road crossing the Getar River on David Bek street in Yerevan.
As a result of the study of the damaged segment, it became clear that the 82-meter-long construction needs not partial, but complete reconstruction.
Given the volume of work, the process will be carried out in two stages: currently the builders are working in the direction descending from David Bek Street.
In order to avoid similar cases of collapse, by the instruction of the Mayor of Yerevan, all existing bridge constructions and interchanges in the capital will be inspected.
All such constructions will be inventoried and include information about these bridge structures: the year of construction, the material they are made of, their seismic condition, their bearing capacity will be assessed, which is necessary for their operation and on the basis of which the community will carry out strengthening and reconstruction activities. This technical task will be one of the important components of the digitalization process launched in Yerevan.
